In Essex this is a scarce resident associated with Hogweed in woods and grassland (Goodey, 2004). The distinctive moths can be found in the afternoons during June and July on the flowers of the foodplant. The larvae spin seeds of hogweed together and feed on the seeds inside the spinning.
